Intraoperative floppy iris syndrome (IFIS) was first described by Chang and Campbell 1 in 2005, being defined by flaccid iris stroma leading to fluttering and billowing of the iris, tendency of iris prolapse through the surgical incisions and progressive intraoperative pupil constriction.
